According to what reported by Kanch, the Journal of the All India Glass Manufacturers’ Federation “many states in India have banned single-use plastic, there is a great opportunity for the glass industry to provide a safe and economically viable alternative for it. The packaging industry alone is expected to have a turnover of 32 billion USD by 2020 in India. This presents an excellent opportunity for the glass industry as glass is largely considered a safe packaging option. What is being seen as a loss to the plastic manufacturers due to the change in environmental regulation in India, might as well be a gain for the glass manufacturers.”
